Guiding Principles

Pine Rest Center for Psychiatric Residential Services' (CPRS) mission and values guide policies and decisions in the following areas:

A. Philosophy of Caring: Pine Rest CPRS strives to accomplish its mission and vision by empowering residents and staff to achieve the most positive and supportive relationships possible. The foundation of these relationships is the implementation of the principles of unconditional acceptance and love, compassionate care, person centered planning, and continuous performance improvement. We value and respect each resident within a safe and structured environment, focusing on developing healthy relationships, utilizing an individualized approach, and recognizing the full potential of each individual.

We provide holistic care by responding to the resident’s spirit, mind and body. We enhance autonomy by providing opportunities to give as well as to receive care to avoid helplessness. We promote teamwork, and care of the caregiver.

B. Staffing: Leadership will own the mission statement and commit themselves to actively implement the mission statement in the operation of residential services. Resident care staff should ideally own and at a minimum, support the mission statement.

C. Philosophy of Leadership:

a. Vision is essential to leadership and such leadership requires the modeling of behavior that reflects the vision of Pine Rest CPRS.
