Pine Rest’s Institute for Spiritual Care, founded in 2002,
educates people to integrate their faith into work, family, and church
life. Because we live in a secular society, people seek deeper faith
practices that have meaning for them. Pine Rest distinguishes itself
because of its Christian roots, and its services benefit clients that
specifically request spiritually-based care. Because of our Christian
faith, the Institute for Spiritual Care offers Pine Rest staff and the
community the opportunity to seek a balance between Christian faith and
their own clinical practice or work.
One way the Institute achieves this is through community-based lectures
and educational offerings. Topics such as how clinical workers can cultivate
compassion when encountering human pain and how to live simply in an
anxious world encourage dialogue and action. By taking advantage of these
training sessions and practicing faith integration in the behavioral
health field, Pine Rest staff continues to offer excellent clinical care
guided by deep, faith-filled and informed Christian principles. The Institute
also continues to educate the community about integrating faith into
all facets of life.
